Billing and Claims Specialist

Full Time Employment
Responsibilities include:

-Responsible for accurate and timely billing and ERA payment posting for all commercial,managed care and Medicaid payers as assigned.

-Verification of proper reimbursement rates and escalations as needed.

-Monitor accuracy of billing limitation denials and reimbursement of processed claims.

-Communication and working with the Patient Account Support Specialist closely regarding billing limitations and any corrections needed from therapists, or inquiries to family members regarding denials and documentation needs for proper claim reimbursement.

-Completion of corrected claims, appeals and other claims adjustments as needed.

-Review and respond to all payer inquiries and correspondence regarding claim reimbursement.

-Resolution of rejected claims in the clearinghouse.

-Work closely with the Administrative team to complete insurance benefit verifications for current clients with change of payers and new potential clients.

-Manage and oversee insurance claim issues and denials for assigned payers.

-Participate in weekly 1:1 meetings with the Revenue Cycle Manager.

-Participate in weekly AR Aging reviews with the Revenue Cycle Manager.

-Work with Billing Team members collaboratively as needed and escalate to the Revenue Cycle Manager as appropriate.

-Complete projects and tasks as delegated by the Revenue Cycle Manager for assigned payers in a timely manner utilizing prioritization skills appropriately.

-Identify payor denial trends and escalate to Revenue Cycle Manager as needed.

-Support the administrative, billing, and clinical teams to improve processes and efficiencies.

-Maintain a professional and positive attitude, problem solve and communicate effectively.

Location & Schedule

Prairie Village Clinic – Monday-Friday 8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.

The ideal candidate:

-2+ years of medical office billing and claims administration experience.

-Preferred Bachelor’s degree or equivalent education.

-Highly detailed and organized.

-Must be efficient with computers, windows operating system and Microsoft Office.

-This individual will play a vital role in the operations and growth of the clinic and is expected to be self-driven, work well on a team, and able to self-direct while remaining flexible.

-This individual will have consistent interaction with all members of the company and our clients and must have strong interpersonal and communication skills.
