Erin received her undergraduate degree in Communication Science and Disorders from Kansas State University, and received her Master’s in Speech Language Pathology from the University of Missouri-Columbia. After obtaining her Master’s degree, Erin worked in an early childhood center within the public school system for 3 years before transitioning to the private practice outpatient setting. Erin has experience working with a variety of clients and age groups, including individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Childhood Apraxia of Speech, phonological speech disorders, Cerebral Palsy, fluency disorders, speech and language delays, oral motor and/or orthodontic difficulties, communication difficulties secondary to ADHD, social pragmatic impairments, and those using Alternative and Augmentative Communication methods.
She has specialized training in PROMPT (Prompts for Reconstructing Oral Muscular-Phonetic Targets), Orofacial Myofunctional Therapy, and Applied Behavior Analysis treatment strategies. Erin also has extensive education in intervention topics and strategies for individuals with Autism Spectrum Disorders, and is a Certified Autism Spectrum Disorder Clinical Specialist. While working with children, Erin enjoys making therapy sessions fun and engaging, and believes in the importance of family involvement, functional skills that can be used across settings, and child engagement and rapport.
Outside of her time at the clinic, Erin enjoys traveling, outside activities, trying new restaurants, and spending time with friends and family.
