Delaney Owen CCC-SLP

Prairie Village SLP Assistant Clinical Manager & Pediatric and Adolescent Speech and Language Pathologist

Delaney is a Wichita native and proud graduate of the University of Kansas, where she earned both her Master’s degree in Speech-Language Pathology and her Bachelor’s degree in Speech, Language, and Hearing, with a minor in Applied Behavioral Sciences. Rock Chalk! During her education, Delaney completed the Leadership Education in Neurodevelopmental Disabilities (LEND) program—an intensive, year-long traineeship at the University of Kansas Medical Center focused on interdisciplinary, family-centered care for individuals with developmental disabilities. Delaney is passionate about early intervention and has experience supporting children from birth to 18 years old, with a focus on both feeding and language development. She has received specialized training in the SOS Approach to Feeding and the Natural Language Acquisition approach for Gestalt language processing. She is also deeply committed to supporting children who use augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), and is passionate about helping every child find their voice, whether that’s through spoken words, gestures, or communication devices.
Her therapy approach is play-based, strengths-driven, and highly individualized to each child’s unique needs and interests. Outside of work, you’ll likely find Delaney reading, tackling a home renovation project, or exploring new local spots around Kansas City.

During those experiences, Delaney has been able to work with a variety of individuals, including those with Autism Spectrum Disorders, Down Syndrome, Cerebral Palsy, speech and language delays, cleft lip and palate, neurodegenerative diseases, and those who use augmentative alternative communication. She has completed additional continuing education in the areas of Childhood Apraxia of Speech and phonological/articulation disorders. Delaney is passionate about play-based, engaging therapy sessions that target relevant and meaningful goals for the whole family.
