Julie Morrow has a pre-med degree, in Human Biology with a concentration in Psychology from the University of Kansas, and a Masters in Occupational Therapy, from Rockhurst University. She is a licensed and registered occupational therapist in Kansas and Missouri. Her primary experience is in pediatrics with specialized training in Reflex Integration (MNRI), motor coordination (Bal-a-vis-x), emotional regulation (The Zones of Regulation), Social Skills (The Social Thinking Curriculum), play-based therapy (DIR Floortime model), Sequential Oral Sensory (SOS) approach to feeding, Fine Motor Skills; including strategies for handwriting (Handwriting Without Tears, First Strokes), Self-Regulation, Emotional Regulation, Behavioral interventions (prior training in CPI, Collaborative Problem Solving, Positive Support Planning, and ABA principals), school processes for individuals with disabilities (504 plans and Individual Education Plans (IEP’s)), Sensory Processing (STAR Institute training), Vision Rehabilitation, and Executive Functioning Skills.
Julie was the founder and owner of Developmental Possibilities LLC, a private pediatric clinic, prior to merging with Playabilities for Sensational Kids. Julie is passionate about community and parent education and occasionally speaks publicly on topics of interest (i.e. Motivation, Executive Functioning, Behavior, Sensory Processing, Handwriting). Julie has experience working in schools (6 years), outpatient pediatric clinics (7 years), homes, daycares, and hospitals; with a total of 13 year of professional experience. Building relationships is her favorite part of her job and she takes pride in treating the whole child and taking a family centered approach to therapy.
Julie loves spending time with her husband and two boys! Going to the lake, family movie nights, fishing, coaching the kid’s sports teams, family bike rides, and researching are some of her favorite things to do!
