Taffeta grew up in the Springfield, Missouri area and moved to Kansas City to complete her education at the University of Kansas Medical Center, earning her Masters degree of Occupational Therapy. Taffeta joined the Playabilites team in 2016 and provides therapy at both Prairie Village and Leawood clinics. Taffeta has experiences with local infant and toddler services, community outreach programs for children with special needs, and coaching swimming lessons to children with autism spectrum disorders.
In April of 2017, Taffeta completed the Advanced Level I Mentorship training at the STAR Institute for Sensory Processing Disorder in Denver, Colorado and specializes in the evaluation and treatment of children with Sensory Processing Disorders. She also specializes in the evaluation of and treatment of infants and toddlers, teaching sensory strategies and regulation skills, advancing social and emotional development, and promoting independence through play for kids of all ages. She has a passion to provide families with education and training in ways to carry over strategies and skills learned in the clinic to the home, school and community environments.
In her free time, Taffeta enjoys running and hiking with her dog, completing home renovations, and spending time with family and friends. .
