We are always happy to learn about additional events to share with the Playabilities community. The goal of this page is to create an ongoing resource for families looking for events for special needs in Kansas City.
A sensory-sensitive event is an activity designed to reduce sensory overload, making it accessible to children with sensory processing challenges. This can often include elements such as dim light and quiet music. Lowering the amount of information children receive through their senses can allow them to focus, participate, and enjoy the event.
We update our events page twice a month. If you send us an event that needs to be posted quickly, we will do our best to update the page in a timely manner.
You can learn more about a particular event by visiting the link we share with the event listing. These events do not take place at a Playabilities location, and unless stated otherwise, we do not host these listed events for special needs in Kansas City.
At the moment, we offer a quarterly education series for Playabilities families and the community at large. We will post these opportunities on our events page. Please note, registration is required and spots fill up quickly!
